Soil CO2 respiration is well known to be a measure of active soil carbon & potential N-release.
New research shows that measuring the short term CO2 burst from dried and rewetted soil accurately
reflects biomass & potential mineralisation of N&P. Yet most soil test labs do not test carbon turnover, therefore carbon quality and nutrient factors are unknown.
The Solvita test has been shown to be as accurate as other CO2 test methods, but easier and simpler to perform. This combined with considerably lower cost, provides soil scientists and farmers with important savings.

The Solvita C+N Mineralisation test (Haney-Brinton Method) comes with 6 Solvita soil paddles, 6 glass test jars, 6 beakers and 6 microfibre filters.

For more precise results we recommend using the Solvita Digital Colour Reader (Item P/No. 100-S).
