Technical & Advisory Services
Recovery of Waste Materials to Land
Do you need expert advice on using compost in agriculture or horticulture – what current regulations allow and how to achieve the best results? With many successful projects completed we are well positioned to guide you through the ever changing regulatory environment. We can advise on the characterisation of waste materials, soil analysis, statement of agricultural benefit, pollution risk assessment, regulatory compliance and record keeping, optimising the integration of recycled materials into cropping systems and fertilizer plans. We can also help with managing the transition to new permit arrangements due in 2010.
Recycling facilities & PAS100 approval
Are you seeking PAS100 approval for your composting facility? Do you want to know how to get your process sorted out so that approval will be granted quickly? We provide technical support for PAS 100 (compost) and PAS 109 (anaerobic digestate) approval as well as Animal By-Products Regulations approval and managing the transition to new permit arrangements due in 2010.
Earthcare has a proven track record in advising Compost Producers how to meet Environment Agency Regulations and Standards and how to produce excellent quality compost into the bargain.
Compost Quality
Do you want to know how good the compost you have made really is, what
end use it is best suited for and potentially how much it could be worth
if marketed properly? We can tell you. The Woods End Labs “Compost-Matrix”
is a specially developed computer analysis program that makes use of many
years of laboratory testing of composts and assessing their fitness for
purpose. Your compost is compared with the ideal characteristics of 6
commonly found end use categories -Mulch, Container Mix, Seed Starter,
Topsoil Compost, Garden Compost and Nutrient Compost. It ranks your product
against a perfect “10” for each category so you know in what growing situation
it will perform best!
The Earthcare “Compost-Matrix” could be the key to unlocking your product’s
real market value.
Market development for recycled materials to land.
We have worked on developing markets for recycled gypsum, compost and anaerobic digestate including compliance with Quality Protocols, and assessment of agricultural and horticultural markets for recycled products along with the production of technical marketing materials.
Control systems for irrigation and fertigation.
Are you a Farmer or Grower, keen to reduce the amount of water you use on plants or crops making use of the latest equipment and methods that technology can offer. We have worked on a number of leading edge DEFRA Hortlink Fertigation projects, most recently at East Malling Research Centre in Kent. Huge savings in water usage were demonstrated using the Decagon Measurement system from the USA. We now offer the benefits of this research to farmers and growers, supplying turn-key solutions for trickle irrigation, including fertigation requirements, soil sensors, telemetry and data interpretation; complete systems that optimise delivery of water and nutrients for improved crop yield and quality, at the same time providing considerable environmental benefits.
